Recently I found this beautiful Harper armchair designed and produced by Jardan. It had caught my attention but I couldn’t decide did I like it or not. And than I realised that there is nothing wrong about it but the clash of two opposite associations. The rounded upholstered seat reminds of the old grandma’s super comfortable 50s or 60s armchair that accompanies your sitting by the sound of rusty springs. On the other hand the exposed timber frame of the armchair reminds me on archetypal kindergarten chairs with it’s characterful simplicity, round ends and unpretentious finishing. It is made to order upholstered in fabric or leather.
